![]() No critic would ever score it less because of it. How many mainstream games fit that bill? Pixelating textures as an artistic ode to the original game is hardly revelatory or unique and whether people like the aesthetic or not, it's extremely unlikely to actually turn anyone off from playing it. You seem to think it's a game for only those with the most opened minds and refined tastes, but really it's just another sci-fi first-person shooter with robots, zombies, audiologs and inventory management. The mainstream video game media have covered this remake over the years extensively and the original is well recognised as extremely influential. ![]() Also, System Shock is far from some underground cult classic. ![]() Learn to accept that just because people have different opinions to you, it doesn't mean they're lesser. As if pixelating a texture is some sort of grandiose, life-affirming artistic decision on Nightdive's behalf that only the most enlightened art connoisseurs can appreciate. Believing you're more of an intellectual or less of a sheep for appreciating this small visual effect is even funnier. Getting so defensive because someone dares to think differently to you about a purely visual detail is incredibly immature and downright pathetic. And your whining is more a proof of its quality than anything else. What they want is anti-art, content that doesn't challenge you and can be thoughlessly consumed by the braindead zombies that make up the majority of the consumer base (you! I'm talking about you!)Īnd don't see why I should care, though, because I want to play a good game, not a popular one. ![]() Mainstream game critics don't care about quality, they care about strict adherence to contemporary game design dogmas, especially when it comes to graphics. ![]() Yeah, this attitude is exactly what I meant.
